Butter
Title: Butter.
Author: Erin Jade Lange.
Pages: 272.
Expected publication: September 18th 2012 .
Publisher: Bloomsbury.
ISBN: 1599907801 (ISBN13: 9781599907802)

A boy everyone calls “Butter” is about to make Scottsdale High history. He’s going to eat himself to death live on the Internet – and everyone will watch.
He announces his deadly plan to an army of peers and expects pity, insults or even indifference. Instead, he finds morbid encouragement. When that encouragement tips the scales into popularity, Butter has a reason to live. But if he doesn’t go through with his plan, he’ll lose everything.

I decided to choose something completely different than the ones I've selected before. No fairytales and retellings this time. This book is just to absurd to ignore. I never ever heard of anything like this before. I also have no idea what to expect, but that makes me so curious about this book.

What’s your pick? :)

  2. You know, this honestly doesn’t sound like the kind of book I would ever be interested in, but I can definitely appreciate that it has a completely unique topic among YA books. I will be interested to read reviews of it once it comes out and begins circulating amongst the blogging community.
    Thanks for sharing your pick!

  3. It sounds kind of creepy honestly. I'm curious about this, but I'm not sure yet if I'll read it or not. Eating yourself to death? I'm not sure if it's really my kind of book...

  4. I really am not sure what to think of this book. On the one hand it just plain creeps me out, but on the other there's a little bit of me that's more than a bit curious about how it will pan out. But... Hope you like it when you get your hands on it, though there's still a bit of a wait.

Thanks for stopping by my blog.

  5. This sounds totally weird and like one of those bad reality shows that you just can't help watching because it's soooo good. I'm there. :)

  8. I LOVE how you decided to choose something different this time, Mel! :) I have to admit that I probably never would've given this book a second glance if I saw it on the shelves because it doesn't look like my regular kind of read either, but seeing it here on your WOW is making me intrigued! It would be so much fun to go into a book not knowing what to expect --- hopefully we love it!

Amazing pick for your WOW this week, Mel! <3 :)

    1. I saw this book on another blog a couple of weeks ago. If I saw it in the bookstore, I would not pick it up, but after reading the synopsis.. It's so unique and absurd. I like to read books outside my 'box' just to see if there are other things I like.

  9. Jeez, that sure is a dark premise! I bet my morbid little monsters at the library will enjoy it thoroughly, though. :-)

    Thanks for visiting my WoW!

  10. Wow that sounds crazy, just shows how obsessed people are with live streaming and viewing things now a days which used to be crazy in the past, is completely normal to us now. Sounds like a great one!

    1. Sometimes, it scares me.. Because I could see this happen. The shows in television must be crazy, otherwise nobody watches it. So sick.
