Q: What drove you to start book blogging in the first place?

Here was a picture with "Reading is dreaming with your eyes open."

My love for books of course! I don't have anything spectacular to tell you. I love reading. I even read when I couldn't read, making up my own stories while holding a book. I drove my little sister nuts when we were younger, because I always woke her up when she had the nerve to fall asleep during the reading. Luckily for her, I don't do that anymore.

In primary school, I loved going to the library! They even made an exception for me: I could bring more books, because I read too fast. In secondary school, I believe I was the only one in my class who read books. I never understood how people could live without books. And how busy I am now with studying, I still find time to read.

Reading is my passion. Writing is something I always liked to do. Talking about books is a wonderful thing to do. So I thought, why not combine it all and make a blog? This way, I can talk to people who loves to read too!

That is why I like this meme so much. You get to know other people better, you can discover new blogs and make new friends. My never ending list becomes happier ever day with all the books I keep adding. My wallet is less happy with you, though, haha. The blog world is a wonderful experience for me.

Tell me, why did you start to blog?

  5. I was a really fast reader in primary school, too! I've slowed down a bit now, though. And I never visited our school library, seeing as it had about 4 books. ): The classroom books were fun, but we weren't meant to take those home [oops!]... :P

Awww, I LOVE your answer to this-- especially the last two paragraphs.<3

  6. I can totally relate! I love the weekly FFs because there is so much I want to know about other readers and there are so many readers I get to know every week just because of this!

  7. Nice! Everyone has such profound or just fun answers! They wanted an output for their book chatting and viola! A blog is formed! My beginning is starting to sound silly, I wanted to win a contest for a signed book or ARC or early copy--can't recall which. And since I don't have facebook I went the route of having a blog! The more places you posted a review, the better your chances. I lost the contest but kept the blog!

  13. Your story made me giggle. My two little boys like to read as well and the little one makes up stories while "reading" to his bigger brother. Your blog is so cute. Thanks for the follow!

  16. I love your answer! Mine's pretty much the same. Whenever I'm in class some professors make fun of people not reading and this girl was always like "how can you have a job and have time to read?" I'm always tempted to say that you make time for it. if you stop playing on your phone all the time you'll find time to read.

Anyway, sorry for the rant. It just popped up! Happy Friday and I'm following you back now!

  18. Aww, Mel, you're so sweet -- I heart your answer! I love that this meme gives bloggers the opportunity to get to know each other better too. Because even though we may have a lot in common with bookish things, we might have so many other awesome things in common without knowing it! That's what I love about the blogosphere :)

Amazing answer, Mel! I hope you have an amazing weekend! <3

  22. Aww I love your answer! Of course the love of reading is probably the main reason we all started book blogging. :) I never really considered blogging at first though... It kind of just sort of happened over a single week, from me deciding I wanted to give it a shot to throwing a blog together a few days later. I'm glad I did though as I love it! :)

  23. Oh my gosh I did the same thing. When I was little I used to love to make up my own stories for picture books. I even went as far as to record myself on cassette tape. Yep cassettes I said it. :o)
