Top 10 tuesday 15. Bookish confessions.

Top Ten Bookish Confessions.
Tell us everything about your deepest book secrets.

1. I never ever read the ending first. Sometimes I hear people say that they read the ending first. How could you do such a thing? That's what the whole book is about! If I would know the ending already, I don't see the use of reading the rest of the book. The ending is most of the time the most exciting thing of the story.
2. I have almost every book from Stephen King and I've read like.. 5 of them. There is something about his books that makes me buy them. I do like his work, so I better get started with the others.
3. I hate cracked/broken sides of books. That's why I read my books very careful. I never open them completely and I don't lay them open on a table; bookmarks!
4. If I have part one of a book series, I tend to buy the rest. Even when I haven't read the first one yet. I just like complete series on the shelves.. I also keep reading. I can't stop in a series, unless I really hate it.
5. If I love an e-book, I HAVE to buy it in a paperback edition. I only have an e-reader, because I find it easier to bring it with me when I travel to school. I collect books, so I want to have it in my collection and e-books aren't touchable.
6. I'm running out of space on my shelves and it makes me nervous. I spend almost all the money I have on books and I'm certainly not going to stop, but I have no idea where to put them now.
7. I must read several books at the same time. I feel bored when I read one book, even when it's a wonderful book. I always read around 4 books and one of them is the 'leader.' When I finish that one, another takes it's place.
8. When I read, you can talk all you want, I don't hear you. The whole world around me doesn't exist the moment I'm reading a book.
9. My wish list is  higher than Mount Everest. That's because I tend to like almost everything. I'm not really picky when I read the blurb. I only stay away from certain genres (like chick lits).
10. I can't do an author interview. The idea scares the crap out of me, haha. I'm a really shy person and I feel like my English isn't that good, so I try to stay away from it. At least until I feel confident enough.

I could go on for a while, but I will stick with these 10. Perhaps I will come with another list someday, just because it's fun to make them. Link me up with your confession!

Mel is a microbiology technician who is obsessed with Disney, fairytale retellings and fantasy. If she's not reading or blogging, she's either busy with gaming, hanging out with family or watching a TV show. She loves summer and bright nail polish. One of her dreams is to travel the world. She has found her Prince Charming and they are together for 7+ years.

  1. I love this list! I've never partaken in the Top Ten Tuesday, but from what I've seen it's a really interesting meme.

I think you ought definitely try asking authors for interviews, if you feel interested and confident- your english is really good and they're a lot of fun! (:

  2. I'm running out of space on my shelves too Mel! And it definitely causes me stress. I just bought the shelves not too long ago and they're already full. And good for you never reading the ending first! I'm cheater through and through and read the ending first habitually:)

  3. Author interviews are so fun though! I'm a shy person, but I do interviews over email, and they're always so interesting!

Thanks for stopping by my TTT!

  4. I don't understand people who read the ending first, either! The ONLY time I read the ending before I have finished the book is to justify myself when I don't finish a book, to prove that the book is just that bad and I was right to NOT finish it!

Thanks for stopping by my blog! Have a great week!

  5. I never read the endings of books early either. I figure it is the ending for a purpose that I am suppose to work up to not get prematurely. THanks for visiting my blog, glad to know I'm not the only one who thinks getting stuck in a library would be good thing.

  6. I actually don't mind cracked books. It proves that I've read a book A LOT. haha. But it's very rare for me to get a paperback book nowadays . . . love my hardcovers so I don't need to worry so much with cracked/broken sides.

    Anyway great post!

  7. I wouldn't dream of reading the ending first either! The only exception is if I'm reading it and I'm mostly done and feeling blah about it. I'll skip to the end then but other than that no way!

I have a list of ebooks that I loved that I want to buy physical copies of and my TBR is higher than Everest. I think there's 200+ after recently culling it of titles I weren't as enthused about. Thankfully it's just a list and not actual books. I wouldn't have the space.

  8. We are not THAT different, :). Your comment on my blog made us sound like complete opposites, but maybe not.
I'm with you on no. 7 and I do like a Stephen King. Haven't read him in ages, but I used to read a lot of his books when I was younger.

  9. I read several books at the same time, too, (unless there is one that is really really good and I can't put it down).

  10. I have some language-issues sometimes, too. I'm fine with writing posts for my blog and comments and stuff but somehow authors intimidate me in general and THEN I also have to worry about language mistakes I might make...(I'm German, by the way)

  11. Great list. Oh people love talking to me when I'm reading.. or they call. I swear they sense when I'm reading.

  12. My wishlist is super long too, I actually have several different ones so that it doesn't look too bad. (I try to trick myself!)

I have never read the ending FIRST, but I have skipped ahead to read the ending. I try not to, but sometimes I have to.

  13. I almost always read the ending first, even when I promise myself I won't! I love Stephen King and read a lot of his books, but most of them are so large that they require a significant amount of time to devote to it - so they tend to get pushed to the side if I have others books to read.

  14. I agree with you on so many of these.
#6 - I've completely ran out of shelf space and am not proceeding to take up large quantities of floor space in my dining room. lol
#7 - I read multiple books at once too. I usually have an ebook, audiobook, and physical book going. Makes it so whatever situation I'm in at the moment I can always read. :)
#9 - My TO BE READ pile is higher than Mount Everest. I need to discover immortality so I can get through them all. :D

  15. #5 - I do that too, though it hasn't happened often yet because I don't like using my e-reader for anything other than kindle-only books or netgalley ARCs. But in the case of Netgalley, if I love the book absolutely I go and buy it in physical form! E-books aren't really "real" books, in my head. ;)

  16. Wow we have a lot of things in common! I also never read the end, hate spine breaking (I have to constantly yell at my sis for putting books face down), I do the same thing with ebooks, I read multiple books, I get lost in books, and my wish-list is quite large!

  17. People read the ending first?!?! What what WHAT? I would never!! And I am the exact same way with the Stephen King books, except I don't think I've actually read ANY of them, seen all the movies though!

  18. I think all of us book bloggers are running out of space on our shelves. And, yeah, you better hurry with all those Stephen King books!

  19. #4 I have that same problem... It kind of sucks when I buy the rest of the series then find out I don't like the first book. I'm working on this though, I try to control myself up until I finish book 1 before buying the rest.... Unless of course it's a box set, well that's another story. (Fail!) LOL.

#9 Damn! You are not alone on this one! Hahaha!

    I love your list! :)

  20. Read the ending first ?!?!?!? I'm with you on that one!

  21. I am the same way about having to by the print copy if I love the ebook. It just makes me happy being able to look at it on my shelf.

Thanks for stopping by my blog!

  22. Completely on the same boat as you with 1, 5, 8, and 9. As for number 10 I'm no good at coming up with interview questions, haha! xD

  23. LOVE your list, Mel! I can relate to many of them. This one especially: When I read, you can talk all you want, I don't hear you. Story of my life that! I have to wonder sometimes how my friends and family put up with me. ;)

  24. #6 is my eternal problem lol. My dad's actually going to fix my bookshelves a bit because some of the shelvings have started dipping because of the weight of all my books *blushes*

I'm trying so hard to restrain myself re: #5. It's so hard; I also have the trouble of wanting all of my favourite books in hardback formats rather than paperback, which then goes back to problem #6 about space, lol.

Thanks for dropping by my blog yesterday!

  25. I love your list! I'm totally with you on 1, 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, and 10! Wow, more than half! :D I'm not very shy but for some reason author interviews really scare me!

Thanks so much for visiting my blog recently! I'm sorry it took me so long to respond--I'm usually a lot more on top of things! Have a great day and check out My TTT and my upcoming His Dark Materials Readalong and Giveaway if you want!

  26. OMG, YES!! D:< I absolutely hate it when people brag about how many books they read, and then I find out that they're one of those "reads the ending first" people >_< WHY?!! WHYYYYYYY?!!!

Agreed with you on the physical copies collecting. I definitely want to complete my collection as well. It just feels...nicer, that way, haha! and ditto on the I-didn't-hear-anything-you-said. If it does go in my ear, it's like...muffle-ly and not clear and I just ignore it XD

Awesome list, Mel! and of course, always impressive with your multi-books-reading skills!

  27. I admit that sometimes I peek at the end of a book, but I only dare read the last few words (and after I've started the story). Spoiling myself with a book's conclusion before I've even started it... I can't understand why someone would want to do that!

Thanks for stopping by and commenting! I really appreciate it and I will return the favor as soon as possible. Remember to return to see my reply! :)
