Q: We are about to see a lot of posts & tweets about reader conventions, RT, BEA, ALA and many more are starting soon. Which one would you love to attend? Where and why?
I wish I could go to BEA, but that is not something I can do any time soon. I live in The Netherlands and I am a poor student, unfortunately. I would love to attend so I can meet other bloggers! And wouldn't it be great to see all those authors? The fact that you can get (signed) copies from new books is awesome too, I'm not going to lie about that. I definitely wish we had conventions like that over here :)
If you follow, let me know in the comments. Please: only follow if you are truly interested in my blog :)

Great answer! : ) I have the same issue

It sucks, right? :(
DeleteSo true :(
ReplyDeleteWe can be sad together :p
DeleteAww too bad you are so far away. I had originally been planning on going to BEA this year but that isn't going to happen because life happens!
ReplyDeleteIt's a shame you can't go!
DeleteNew follower here! BEA does sound pretty awesome - maybe one day *sigh*. I love your blog background btw : )

Thanks for the follow :D
DeleteI am slowly learning about BEA through other peoples answers and it looks like a fun event to go to.

DeleteWhen I win the lottery and buy a jet, I will send it over and we can go together. It sounds like such a great event. I might be a bit overwhelmed though to be honest. All those people and events? Where do you even start?
ReplyDelete(Old follower ;-)
Haha, yes please! :D Yes, it does sound overwhelming, but I think I can handle :p
DeleteIt would be incredible to get to meet the authors and visit with other bloggers. I hope that one day you'll get to go! Old follower :D Thanks for stopping by this week!

I hope so too!
DeleteI would love to attend any of them. Since I live in Sweden it´s kind of hard though =)

That is close to the Netherlands! Sweden seems like such a pretty country.
DeleteSame here, I live in Uruguay and we don't have those :(

It's a shame :(
DeleteI live in a country where there are no conventions, too, so I know how you feel. But it'd be good to go one day, especially at BEA... I've always wanted to have my favorite books signed by my favorite authors (I mean, who doesn't? haha). Hopefully one day!
ReplyDeleteFollowed you back!
Indeed, that would be awesome!
DeleteI definitely can remember (& still relate) to those poor student days. And I'm from the Maritimes in Canada so no book expos or blogger conventions ever make it here either. I hope these things keep growing & expanding so everyone from all over the world can have some pass close by!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing & have a fabulous week end ♥

Yeah BEA is a dream for me too!! All the ARCs...oh yeah!! But NYC is an intimidating place for me. Mostly because I look like a high school student even though I'm 25, I feel like the city would eat me alive if I was on my own, which is usually how I go to conventions because no one else in my real life ever wants to go with me.
ReplyDeleteHere's my Follow Friday
Have a GREAT weekend!

Well, I'm 21 and people sometimes think I am 16 :') So I know how you feel about being intimidated, haha.
DeleteHope you get to attend a convention soon :)

I've never been to a convention before but BEA looks like the one to attend! I think it's awesome you can meet authors and check out the latest books as well as interact with other bloggers :) I really wish I could attend this year but I'm going to start saving up for next! Hopefully you will make it to a book convention as well. Nice FF!!

Ohhh, exciting! :D
DeleteBEA seems to be a popular choice! I'll have to research it. :)

I went to BEA last year, just for one day, since I can take a bus to New York (though it's about a 4.5 hour ride). It wasn't that great, but I think it was just because I only went for the one day.
ReplyDeleteThe ARCs were awesome and I got to meet a lot of great authors. It was too packed, way too many people in there and everyone was getting sweaty. Ew. lol
It was kinda nice, but don't feel bad about not going. :)
I'm thinking maybe some of us should do an online reader convention *laughs* So many of us either have no idea what they are, or live in countries where there aren't any! :D
ReplyDeleteThnks for the advice! Haha. Reader conventions definitely sounds fun. :)

Me too! I would love to but I am totally poor LOL
ReplyDeleteAll this talk abot BEA is getting me so excited... and jealous at the same time! I don't live in the States either, and I am a poor student like you (though I'm pretty sure I'm poorer :P), so unfortunately I'll probably only be able to go to a book convention like that when I'm 30. Sad. I would really love to meet authors in real life, too, especially since they don't come to this part of the world! YOU'RE NOT ALONE, MEL!
ReplyDeleteI'm not so far away as the Netherlands... just Virginia. ;-) Stil can't afford to make it to NYC for the BEA though. Maybe one day!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my blog this week! New follower via GFC.
I live an hour or so drive from NY and I still haven't been to BEA. Maybe someday.

Wow...Netherlands....I find it quite cool that you're blog's name is thedailyprophecy..and when I think of Netherland, I think of classic fairytales or myths. Someday hopefully you can attend! :) Lovely blog layout by the way.

Same problem here, I'm in the UK and I'm a poor student! I just need to win the lottery...lol
ReplyDeleteI'm an old follower :), My FF
I would love to go to some of these conventions! There isn't anything quite as big in the UK (and for the few events that happen here, it's never for authors I actually want to see). And I agree, it would be amazing to meet so many other bloggers. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting and following. :D cool blog - i'm following back.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by and following! Now following back!

Cute blog...new follower.
ReplyDeleteThe BEA is so much fun...I hope everyone can go some day.
I just found out about BEA last year. I went for one day....wasn't sure what to expect or do. Going to all four days this year. I will be staying with my son to save money on lodging. It is a lot of fun.
