The Bout of Books read-a-thon is organized by Amanda @ On a Book Bender and Kelly @ Reading the Paranormal. It is a week long read-a-thon that begins 12:01am Monday, August 18th and runs through Sunday, August 24th in whatever time zone you are in. Bout of Books is low-pressure, and the only reading competition is between you and your usual number of books read in a week. There are challenges, giveaways, and a grand prize, but all of these are completely optional. For all Bout of Books 11 information and updates, be sure to visit the Bout of Books blog. - From the Bout of Books team.
I'm not sure what I want to read, but I hope to finish at least 4 books. My idea is to finish 2 TBR pile books and 2 review copies:
I want to visit 10 new blogs every day and leave some comment love. I hope to join at least two challenges and you can follow my progress on Twitter with the hashtag: #dailyboutofbooks

This is my first time joining :) And I chose 5 books to try and finish :) I love your choices!!! I read Days of Blood and Starlight. It was amazing!! I still have to read Dreams of Gods and Monsters though :p I'd love to be able to follow your blog on bloglovin, if you would like to join it :)
ReplyDeleteYou can follow me on Bloglovin'. Just click on the + icon in the sidebar and it will take you there :)
DeleteOh right!! Sorry :p I tried searching for your bpog on bloglovin but it kept coming up No Results!! I'll do that instead :p
DeleteOooh I have heard of this challenge before, but never participated. I think I might do that week since I don't have much on at the moment, I will definitely be checking this out later. Best of luck!
ReplyDeleteIt's fun! :)
DeleteI am definitely participating although I'm not too sure what I'm reading just yet. Good luck and happy reading :)
ReplyDeleteI'm participating too! Still have to type my goals and TBR post though. Good luck to you!
ReplyDeleteI will keep an eye on your blog :D
DeleteOh, I've never heard of this challenge before. Sounds like fun!! Good luck to you! :)
ReplyDeleteI'm participating, too! Really looking forward to it! :)
ReplyDeleteGood luck! :)
Ugh, still in my reading slump so I'll just embarrass myself by failing miserably at yet another reading challenge; but wow, four books in a week is amazing -- all the best, hon! The first two shouldn't be that much of a problem to get through, though. ;) I've seen only great reviews for both Days of Blood & Starlight and Dreams of Gods & Monsters... even though they're pretty huge books.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see your thoughts on these!
I hope I can make it. I've been reading a lot, so I guess I should be fine :D
DeleteAww, I wish I could participate, but I'm going back to school that week so I need to focus on that. :(
ReplyDeleteAwhh, that's a shame :(
DeleteI really need to be doing this. I did it last year. My reading has been slacking because of my slump and maybe something like this could help me get back into it.
ReplyDeleteJanina @ Synchronized Reading
I hope it will help, Janina :)
DeleteGreat choices! I love Kiersten White's books and can't wait to try Illusions of Fate. I am waiting to a bit later in the week to make a list. Good luck with Bout of Books!
ReplyDeleteHer Paranormalcy series was fun :)
DeleteI'm reading Illusions of Fate soon too! :)
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of read-a-thons but I'm super low on time. Good luck though!
ReplyDeleteThis is the first time that I'm not participating since I started blogging but I'm gonna be closely stalking all of those who are. Good luck with everything Mel!
ReplyDeleteAw, yay :D Awesome books that you are hoping to read. <3 Great goal Mel. Thank you for sharing about it :) Fingers crossed you will manage it. <3 And ohh. I am very excited to see what you think of The Jewel. I have it too. But have only heard bad things :( Sad face. I don't want to read it anymore, lol. But I might, if you love it :)
ReplyDeleteI've seen mixed things, but I do hear awful things about insta-love.. we'll see!
DeleteI am also hopping to get through four books, but that may be a bit ambitious. So, if I can get through three books I'll be happy.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the read-a-thon :D
Good luck :D
DeleteGreat lineup! Glad to see you're joining in the fun too :D
ReplyDeleteGood luck with your goals.. I just posted mine today and I already want to get started. I just might. Dreams of Gods and Monsters is on my list too! Have Fun!

DeleteI LOVE Laini Taylor!
ReplyDeleteIt looks like you and I will both be reading Days of Blood and Starlight during BoB. I haven't decided yet if I'm going to read Dreams of Gods and Monsters afterwards yet; I'm going based off my mood at the time, but if I don't then maybe you can tell me what you thought of it. You can tell me if I should get my butt into gear and start reading DoGM. Then we can babble on about it together. :P
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the Read-a-thon! I hope you get through all your goals. (:
I will let you know :D!
DeleteI'm still contemplating about signing up. I just might.
ReplyDeleteI've to finish a few ARCs myself along with reading a couple of backlist titles I've been wanting to (Stormdancer!).
So excited that you're going to finish Daughter of Smoke and Bone trilogy. Hope you love it! Also, pretty excited about Illusions of Fate and not about The Jewel. Gah.
The Jewel has many mixed reviews.. I'm curious.
DeleteRead an amazing review of The Jewel, so you might want to give that one a whirl! Good luck with your goals, Mel! Hoop dat je er veel uitleest :)!
ReplyDeleteI'm participating as well! I've heard great things about Laini Taylor although I haven't read anything by her! New follower via GFC!

All of your book choices look absolutely fantastic! I've actually added a couple of them to my TBR. Thank you for sharing and GOOD LUCK! You can totally do this!

Thanks and you too! Happy reading :D
DeleteCan I just say your site's design is so beautiful! Also I have heard great things about The Jewel. I want to read it myself.
ReplyDeleteBlue Books and Butterflies
Thanks! All thanks to my wonderful designer :)
DeleteI love this idea, maybe I'll join it later on! I have no time now, in between introduction week and VIP week for the rowing association I'll be joining, but it sounds like a great way to keep up with some goals you set for yourself :)
ReplyDeleteHave fun with these books! I haven't read either of them (yet), but they are on my TBR.
You could always challenge yourself to read 1 book :)!
DeleteI never join these things because I can never find the time to actually tackle my TBR list! I hope you enjoy all of your books, though! I didn't enjoy much (didn't enjoy it at all) The Jewel, but I hope you do!
ReplyDeleteMarianne @ Boricuan Bookworms.
Those are some beautiful books - such great eye candy!! This is my second boutofbooks and I am so terribly excited to start I couldn't go back to sleep after I saw someone tweet about it. I had to go and take photos of potential books that I want to read.
ReplyDeleteYes, they are gorgeous :D
DeleteBout of Books is so much fun! Have a great time!
ReplyDeleteYour choices look amazing. I hope you reach all your goals and have fun during Bout of Books :)
ReplyDeleteGood luck Mel. I enjoyed Jewel as long as I didn't poke into the world building too much. I thought it was a quick, enjoyable read though. And I need to read those LT's books too, I'm so bad at finishing series even though I adored DOSAB. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteQuick and enjoyable is sometimes all I need :D
DeleteJust saw your goal post after commenting on your other post, I'm reading The Jewel too, you dont fancy buddy reading it for the readathon? Let me know! :)
ReplyDeleteI saw your comment too late, I already got started! But we definitely need to compare our thoughts at the end. I will send you a friend request on Goodreads :)
DeleteGood luck! I'm reading Dreams of Monsters and Gods as well!
ReplyDeleteAmber Elise @ Du Livre
Good luck Mel! I really need to start the DOSAB series. Everyone else seems to love it!
ReplyDeleteOkay, first off, this layout is lovely! I adore it. ♥
ReplyDeleteSecond, good luck with your goals! I hope you enjoy Bout of Books! I haven't read any of the books on your goal list, but they're certainly lovely covers! I'm apparently all about the aesthetics tonight, haha.
Thanks Sharon, it's all because of the talented Stephanie :D
DeleteYour blog is absolutely beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThe books you chose for the read-a-thon are very interesting. I've been dying to read "Dreams of Gods and Monsters". Good luck and have fun. :)
