This is a 'new' feature I came up with. I will be talking about everything that has to do with reading. From pretty new covers to discussions about books. I will post them randomly.

The phoenix is a large swan-sized scarlet bird with red and gold plumage, along with a golden beak and talons, black eyes, and a tail as long as a peacock's. Its scarlet feathers glow faintly in darkness, while its golden tail feathers are hot to the touch. Phoenixes are known for nesting on mountain peaks. They are gentle herbivores and are not known for fighting. Phoenixes are very difficult to domesticate, but if you succeed, they are extremely loyal to their owners, and would depart to find their own paths if their owners die, rather than finding a new master.

Gen and her twin brother, Jack, were raised with their mother's tales of life in the World Above. Gen is sceptical, but adventurous Jack believes the stories--and trades the family cow for magical beans. Their mother rejoices, knowing they can finally return to their royal home. When Jack plants the beans and climbs the enchanted stalk, he is captured by the tyrant who now rules the land. Gen sets off to rescue her brother, but danger awaits her in the World Above. For finding Jack may mean losing her heart..This has to be one of my favorite retellings from Cameron Dokey together with Golden (retelling from Rapunzel). It has everything you could ask for in a fairytale. A intelligent, strong heroin, a sweet love romance and some action to spice it all up.

You know what I really love about this book? The cover! Red blood cells, something I've seen a couple of times under the microscope now. And it sounds like a good Dystopian story.

QUICK QUESTION:
Does my drop-down-menu work? It does work on my laptop, but when I go to the laptop from my sister or father, I can't click on the drop-down balk.
As you might have noticed, The daily Prophecy got a make-over! The lovely Megan from Ink Skies offered a free custom made design, because she started her own design website. Go and take a look: The Alchemy of Designs.
Don't you just love the tagline? It's something Megan came up with and it matches my personality so well! Not only did I get a very pretty button (please change if you use the older one!) She also made a new rating system, matching with my
Megan worked so fast and she listened to my requests. I think she came up with something great and she is a very sweet girl. If you want a new design, I definitely recommend The Alchemy of Designs.
To remind you of the old design.
Now, what do you think? :D

Review 112. Cassandra Clare – City of Glass.

Title: City of Glass,
Author: Cassandra Clare.
Pages: 541.
Published: March 24th 2009 by Margaret K. McElderry Books
Sort: Part three of ‘The mortal instruments.’
Review part 1: City of Bones.
Review part 2: City of Ashes.
To save her mother's life, Clary must travel to the City of Glass, the ancestral home of the Shadowhunters - never mind that entering the city without permission is against the Law, and breaking the Law could mean death. To make things worse, she learns that Jace does not want her there, and Simon has been thrown in prison by the Shadowhunters, who are deeply suspicious of a vampire who can withstand sunlight. As Clary uncovers more about her family's past, she finds an ally in mysterious Shadowhunter Sebastian. With Valentine mustering the full force of his power to destroy all Shadowhunters forever, their only chance to defeat him is to fight alongside their eternal enemies. But can Downworlders and Shadowhunters put aside their hatred to work together? While Jace realizes exactly how much he's willing to risk for Clary, can she harness her newfound powers to help save the Glass City - whatever the cost?I liked it, but I didn’t love it as much as the other two books. There might be spoilers if you haven’t read the other books.
Clary is now searching for wizard Ragnor Fell, because he is the one to bring her mother back from her coma. She must travel to City of Glass, home of the Shadowhunters, but Jace finds it much too dangerous for her. He tricks her, but Clary is determined to find the wizard and she makes her own portal into the city.
Valentine has made his army of Demons and he breaks into the city; demons flood through the streets and there is death and chaos everywhere. He gives the Clave a choice. They must support him and his war against the Downworlders or he will return with a bigger army to destroy each and everyone of them. Clary isn’t planning to give up and she wants to use the Downworlders in this battle. In the mean time, Jace is on his own mission. He is trying to find Valentine’s hiding place, so he can kill him. Can they win this war before it is too late?
While I liked the plot (even when it was very predictable) and the action, I started to get really annoyed by Clary and her stupid behavior. She is acting like a spoiled brat, she is making dumb decisions and she isn’t capable of thinking clear. I’m not sure what has gotten into her, but I couldn’t stand her! She throws herself into these dangerous situations and I wanted to slap her in the face multiple times. I liked Valentine as the villain, I only wished that he appeared sooner in the story, because I got a little bored sometimes. It was because of that endless dragging about the sister/brother relation between Clary and Jace. Just get over it already. Tell me what is going on and continue with the real story.
I’m not sure if I’m going to read the other books. I’m very satisfied with this ending and I’m afraid that the other books are just a waste of time. For now, I think I will say goodbye to these characters and who knows, I might pick up the other book someday.
“There is no pretending,” Jace said with absolute clarity. “I love you, and I will love you until I die, and if there’s a life after that, I’ll love you then.”
